Hi everyone, I went over the 456 application form, just wanna clarify a few things about answering it properly. Hoping to hear from the ones who've done it already. :)

question 13. current occupation

question 14. employer's name, position, etc

-what if not currently employed as a nurse? or doing part-time but not healthcare related?

19. describe intended prinicpal business activity in australia

-do i just put bridging program? are there any other specific details i should include?

23. Do you, or any other person included in this application, intend to enter

a hospital or a health care facility (including nursing homes) while in

Australia?

-i assume this is yes, since clinical placements are part of the BP? kindly confirm :)

24. Do you, or any other person included in this application, intend to work

as, or study to be, a doctor, dentist, nurse or paramedic during your stay

in Australia?

-"NO"? since the purpose is BP?

25. Do you, or any other person included in this application, intend to work,

or be a trainee, at a child care centre (including preschools and creches)

while in Australia?

-apparently everybody will be looking for work. how do we answer this? i'm a bit confused coz there's a "trainee" clause. are bp students considered such?

Thanks in advance!

13 & 14. just answer it honestly. It would be better that you are currently employed so that they will really be convinced that you will be going out of Australia once your course will end or before your visa will expire.

19. elaborate further. you can tell them that you are complying AHPRA's requirement, blah, blah...

23. Yes

24. Yes, you intend to study...

25. No. You should not be telling them that you will be looking for work as your visa will not allow you to do so. Remember that your only purpose of entering Australia under 456 is just to undergo a short course in completion with AHPRA's requirement.

Good luck!

Where can i find the list of health insurance providers in australia so i can check on each company? Insurance is very important as we don't know what may happen to us along the way

Hi marklouiemarco,

If your going for IHNA, enclosed on their course information booklet is the need to have the OSHC and they listed HBA and Medibank.. I got my insurance via HBA which is now under BUPA HBA is joining Bupa - Bupa.. They offer certain types of health insurance depending on the type of visa you are applying for.. Like mine, I have my classic visitor visa (in compliance with subclass 456) which is around $89/month and the coverage is really good.. You could try it also..

They usually send request for medicals after a week. Mine took 6 days.

So you did not receive any acknowledgment email from them for the lodgement? Just an email after a week? Was that 6 days for you or 6 working days?
