Have you had assessment by AHPRA? Have you got you IELTS in one sitting of 7?

Have you had 1 year experience?
I haven't done any of those. If you could help me, what should I do first? I'm really lost
And speaking of experience, why is that one of my friends got into the BP without having any experience? We're both 2012 graduates. Is it just because she knows someone from Australia?

Knowing someone in Australia has no impact on APHRA and your application. I suggest you read back a few pages or more in the thread in the Nursing Registration forum for Australia, the link can also be found in the first post of this thread. Also check out APHRA website

Was your friend able to leave without the OEC? Is it still true that if one doesn't have an OEC, he'll have to pay the taxes at the airport?
She was allowed to leave the airport but she needed to sign some documents. Im not sure about the paying part

hi. i have tried to search this site for my questions but i haven't found a definite answer.

i'm a nurse from the philippines wanting to get a stable job on another country. i only have a year of clinical experience.

    given the current situation:

    a. i'm willing to migrate to new zealand or australia. i understand it's easier (in terms of requirements) to get to NZ compared to australia as a student nurse for a year while working part-time. but i've read some of the threads saying that income in new zealand is too low. i don't want to invest in something i might regret later.

    b. another thing is in terms of different fields of nursing, which country has more options? i have realized that i don't like to work in a hospital but since i have a degree in nursing, i want a field somehow related to it. and as the visa restricts you somehow in the field of nursing.

please feel free to correct some of my info. thanks.

You will not be able to register as a nurse in New Zealand as you only have one year experience and they have from the 1st of March demand 2 years experience.

AS for being a student nurse....and you do not like nursing in a hospital....what a waste of money and time as you are concerned re low pay of New Zealanders, would pay in NZ be lower than your country?

You can only work in Australia if you have a visa that allows you to work. That requires an employer that cannot find a local to do the job!! or a working holiday visa if you come from a country that has this arrangement with Australia.

There are massive cutbacks in health in all Australia. Just exactly do you want to do that you can offer an employer that a local does not have? might be yoour answer.

i see. i understand your point.

regarding the pay, it's highly unlikely that pay in new zealand would be lower compared to the philippines.

so there are massive cutbacks in australia. does new zealand have the same situation currently?
