How long the evaluation for RN (NY State) take? - Page 6
Register Today!- May 19, '06 by karin78Hello friends, seems like we are all in the same status...waiting
I´ve applied to NY in march 3rd, my CGFNS status says waiting for required items, but I called my school and Nursing Licensing Authority and they told me that They have not been asked anything from any US office
Now I am losing my mind and Iam thinking of doing it through Vermont, I have already take all CGFNS services : CP, VSC, and Iam taking CGFNS exam in july, so, what do you think will passing that examination help in any way? or just go and start Vermont BON, to sit for NCLEX I understand that with CGFNS and IELTS I will receive my visascreen , can I apply for a Greencard with that?or I am going to still need the NCLEX for anny state license to get a job offer?
This New York paperwork really takes too much, in what steps you suggest theyre the fastest? immigration paperwork or some other?because Im really dissapointed of this speed
My goal and hope is not to be in the US but to get my Greencard or something very close to it, like Embassy interview by March-April next year , Do you think is possible? is that a realistic goal? I dont mind what I have to do, contract or buy but I want to have the relief of knowing Im going by that date
Wish luck to all of you :spin: - May 20, '06 by kiko88Quote from karin78i heard that others waited for 6 to 8 months from the time they applied until cgfns completed its work and submitted the cvs report to ny. :spin:hello friends, seems like we are all in the same status...waiting

cgfns website (for cvs-ny service) mentions that it has six months within which to gather all the documents from the school and licensing authority, and another 45 working days (?) to finish and send its report for ny.

Last edit by lana80 on May 20, '06 - May 20, '06 by jonRNMDNY would take you at least 8 months based on my wife and my experience applying for NY.....
- May 20, '06 by lana80Quote from suzanne4The problem looks like it was with your school, not CGFNS. CGFNS is required to send all documents that they have received onto NY in six months, even if the file is not completed. If NY is having to wait for the translation, it means that your school did not return the documents before the deadline.
If they have received everything on time, it usually takes only about four months for you to get approval.
Hello Suzanne!
I am RN from israel. IN the updating list of CGFNS (CVS NY) is written that "report mailed".What is the mean? Is the mean that report was aproved? May I start the endorsment procces to NY from Vermont?
Thank you! - May 31, '06 by loubioQuote from jonRNMDHi Jon..I also applied for CVS last January 2006. I am just curious about that 8 month time frame..did you have any delays on your school's and licensing authority's submission of docs? In my case, my school sent my transcripts via regular airmail so it took a long time to reach cgfns ... took like 2 months to reach them!! So now it is my 5th month of waiting. They recieved my transcripts last May 3,2006. Now I am just wondering how long will it take them to issue my report. From your experience, how long did it take from the receipt of all the necesarry docs to the time your report was issued? Thanks so much..just need this info because I get worried sick that its so hard for me to focus on reviewing for NCLEX.NY would take you at least 8 months based on my wife and my experience applying for NY.....
- May 31, '06 by jonRNMDhi lou....my school sent my Transcripts to cgfns via Fedex....i paid extra for that service by my school.....upon receipt of my TOR and License, it took 5 months for my report to be issued and another 3 weeks for NY state to evaluate and approve my TOR and license.....
the crazy thing is, my wife's CVS is not issued until now even though she submitted a week ahead of me.....until now, she still doesnt have her ATT and its almost 9 months from when she mailed the payments to CGFNS.....
a lot to my friends has been complaining about the slow pace of CVS for NY.....a year of wait is not unusual for those who paid and submitted CVS application for the year 2005 - Jun 4, '06 by loubioHi Jon. Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering, did you do a lot of follow ups? You know, like emails, calls to CGFNS? And did it help speed up things? Cos like now, I feel that I dont have much to do since they have received all the necessary documents from school and licensing authority. All I can do is just wait. So I was wondering maybe if I call them from time to time it would make them work on my case..
Anyway, what review materials are you using? Im a bit scared cos I have decided to just self review cos there arent any good enough review centers here in my province. Im trying to do Suzanne's study guide. Its good cos I get better and better but I'm still not sure if its enough.. Its really scary cos I already have batchmates in school that did not pass NCLEX. I was thinking that it has a lot to do with our basic background..*sigh*.. I just hope Im doing the right thing and not regret that I haven't gone to a review center for the exam.
- Jun 4, '06 by suzanne4Quote from loubioJust to put your mind at ease, every single foreign nurse that followed my program exactly, passed the exam. That is why you have to do the review at the beginning, to find out if you have any weak points that need an extra review.Hi Jon. Thanks for the reply. And the eight months time frame is not normal, most get it in about four months. Here you only hear of ones that had issues.
Currently there may be some issues with programs that were completed in the Philippines, but for others the wait has been aprroximately four months to receiving the ATT> - Jun 5, '06 by loubioThanks Suzanne..I would say ..let nature take its course..hehe..I am also a second courser so the verification process may be different from among others. But I feel better now, reviewing for 8 hours a day with a lot of 15 minute breaks in between. Thanks again and God bless. :angel2:
