Is possible to go with CGFNS exam and visa screen but you will not be able to work as RN until you pass NCLEX. I would also imagine most employers would prefer NCLEX pass first

Can somebody help me please!!! I'm a foreign graduate from the Philippines and just revently taken my NCLEX exam last July 18, 2006 @ HK and haven't got my results yet... until now! does it really take this long to wait for CA to mail the results?? :scrying: talk about prolonging the agony...

HI! I just need your advice. please? I didn't pass the Nursing Licensure Exam here in the Philippines last June 2006. i'll retake the test this coming december. My friends adviced me to start processing my application for NCLEX exam in Cali or New York because it will take 6 months before the release of my ATT (Approval to take Test). Ive already downloaded the application form but im still looking for an agency who can assist me processing my application or do u think it's better if i'll do it on my own. i have already the fingerprinting card and application form anyway?? and do you know where can I find the best NCLEX review center here in the Philippines? which is better? Pass an application to take NCLEX and Enroll in a review center like Kaplan..or find an agency that will help you process your application and that will also give review classes? please help me..

Thank you in advance! God bless you all!

It's going to be 3-4 weeks before the snail mail gets to the Philippines.

You can do the processing on your own. Please read the diff. threads in here. It will answer most of your Q's and then some. Just be patient and search for it. Most of it is on the very 1st page of the webpage. Start off reading Suzanne's Primer.

To give you a head start. Choose the State where you want to work. Most often times, it is best to apply straight to the State where you want to work w/ the excemption of CA. Why? The time-frame is min. of 6 mos and may be up to 12 mos (or more). For CA, it is best to apply either for Vermont or New Mexico ( about 2-3 mos processing) or any state that also have fast processing then endorse to CA. You can also know your results in a couple of days, unlike CA where you have to wait for 3-4 weeks for the snail mail.

Details on the time-frame for CA and NY and their pros and cons are in diff. threads here. Read about it. Likewise, there are also threads pertaining to applying to Vermont and New Mexico here. Most can be searched in the 1st 2 pages of this forum. If not.. use the Search button above and enter the topic and search.

wow, so nice of you Lawrence! thank you so much.. i'll consider your advice ;) Im new here.. Are you already working in the states? =)

how about in new york?

I would strongly suggest that you do the processing on your own and do not sign up w/ an agency for the sole purpose of doing the processing for you or you'll end up being tied-up w/ that agency even before you pass any of your exams. Passing rate for NCLEX RN for foreign grads is

big brother lawrence, can't find the search button above... =(

how about in new york

NY, needs CGFNS' CVS (Credential Evaluation Service) and it takes longer than 6 mos (up to 12 mos or more). Search for NY or CVS here. Many posters have complained of it's long processing (for various reasons). However, if this is the state where you want to work then you really have no choice but to apply for it directly. Like I said, it is usually better to apply directly to the State where you want work w/ the excemption of CA for the reasons I already mentioned.

First thing you must do is to make a decision on w/c state you want to really work.
