Hi! I'm a registered nurse in the Philippines. I really decided to join this website because I have so many questions in mind that is bothering me right at this moment. This is regarding my plans of working in Illinois. I will be taking the CGFNS exam this July. In God's grace to pass, I'm planning to take IELTS exam and apply for an NCLEX examination. I would just like to ask an advice from you if what exam should I take first? Is it the IELTS or apply first to NCLEX? And how many months does this application will be approved by the Illinois BON? Because I've heard from my friends that it will took us a couple of months for our application to be approved by the Illinois BON for us to take the NCLEX exam. Is it true? Thanks ahead for your reply... God bless!!!

When was your CES mailed? May take a little while to get to the BON and for them to assess your file as complete. Have you tried contacting them for an update?

thanks.

it was dated march 04. i did contact cts but i haven't received any email yet. i told a friend about my application and she referred me to her cousin who applied in IL as well, but she told me that I can register w/ pearson if i'm ready for the exam. if i have completed all documents, and my ces was issued it's good as eligble already, that's what she said.

March 4 was only a few days ago, We always recommend waiting to register with pearsonvue until you get the ok from BON just in case. With retrogression waiting a few days isn't going to make much difference

If you did it online then you can't change it and have to write to them for them to alter it. This may take some time

hi maam,

I just receive my Fingerprint card and went to nbi. i just want to ask if there are code to the color. eyes: BLACK or BLK? and are we going to send the cert. of submission of fingerprint(FP-NUR) card together with the 4 pages green form? also how much is the fee for IBT?THANK IN ADVANCE!!

just put black..

yes you should include the FP-NUR form together with your application form.

Besides from reading over and over again the application packet, I suggest that you read this Illinois thread even though it's too long because it will help you fill up your application forms or better yet use the search function.

back reading is a virtue!

Thank you maam! I had already browse all the pages but i cant find the updated price of fingerprint in IBT ( Identix )...Your thread has been really helpfull to all.. GOD Bless!:redbeathe hoping you could give the updated price for IBT..

hi there. i want to ask how long would it normally take for CGFNS to notify an applicant that they received or approved one's CES application. i have sent mine as requirement for the ILL NCLEX, however i've only received autoreplies. i am a bit apprehensive since it costs so much. it's only been a week so...

i'd appreciate a reply... thanks :D

It takes several months to get the CES done. They do not notify each candidate that they have received your application or they would never get anything done.

You always need to allow two weeks from the time that they actually receive it for them to do anything with it at all.

And how did you send the application to them? Courier service or regular air-mail? Anything less than courier service and you cannot track it to find out if they received it.

There is also a retrogression in place right now, so there is no reason to be in such a hurry to get things done.

Eventually, they will send you something that will give you your CGFNS number and you will be able to follow your file on-line, but until that time, there is nothing that you can do. And that is why you are getting auto-responses.

thank you, suzanne. i have sent my application through courier, so i know CGFNS received it, apparently. the autoreplies were coldly verifying my address and contact numbers, nothing more. perhaps that was an indication they have indeed received it. however, i haven't got my CGFNS number yet.

is it a good time to have my remaining documents sent to them now? should i wait? patience has never been my virtue... :D my financial status is such that i need to accomplish the NCLEX this year :)

your reply is greatly appreciated...
