i am new to this forum. i am a r.n. in philippines and will migrate in canada (vancouver). i haven't actually practiced my profession as a nurse in hospital setting instead as a company nurse.

actually i don't know have an idea  as to what to do to become a r.n. in canada.

should i need to take up another how many years of nursing in canada?

what should i do? kindly help me please!! thanks a lot.

Sunshine here.......26 c bit cold for this time of the year though....had the sun in my eyes driving to work today at 8am ..b nuisance.:D

Have Job while waiting for permit mmmmmmmmmm:rolleyes:

the job offer was as a nursing aide. So I figured I could start from there, work my way up. thanks.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Find it hard that a nursing aide can get a work permit seeing as it will not be on the list and getting a LMO will be hard as the employer has to prove they can not employ locally and may have to advertise the job for several weeks to months to satisfy a Canadian official to issue a LMO. No LMO means no TWP

anyone here applied for SRNA?

Specializes in Emergency and Trauma.

hi, my cousin and I will take the TWP route (apply to CRNBC wait for eligibility, apply for interim permit, find employer etc.) on our own, it's kinda easy, anyway, I would like to ask after you received your eligibility, is the application for interim permit enclosed also? and if I will apply for an employer, what will I apply? Nurse? Caregiver? Nursing Attendant? considering I only have the eligibility to take the CRNE, thank you

Steps:

1. Apply for eligibility at CRNBC

2. Look for an employer who's willing to hire people who are still waiting to take the exam

3.If you obtain an employer, submit interim permit to crnbc

4. When approved, papers for working visa needs to be processed

hi redtwin, Im a newbie here and Im getting ready to review for my IELTS, my husband will sponsor me and thought I take my english test here and apply for the carna since I heard it takes some time to have them assess papers. How was your test anyway? What's the band score in IELTS do they require us to have? thanks for reading

I just took the IELTS here in Canada last May 7, 2011. I then submitted my documents and

waiting for the reply of CRNBC. If you can, you can take the IELTS in your home country, it really depends on you.

thanks again:o

I just submitted my application last May 2011. By July 1, the band score will be raised. I forgot how much but you can check the CRNBC website to verify. Are you here in Canada?

hi , no im still here in the Phil, my husband will sponsor me and thought I might as well prepare anything that I can do while Im still here, since we can file application to carna while still here I am planning to, but first thing first, IELTS first. Thank you for taking the time out answering my queries;)

yes, you can do that. IELTS is cheaper if you take it from the Philippines instead of here in Canada. And you can submit your documents to CRNBC while you are still there.
