good day!!!! can you help me in applying for my application in california. i already sent my transcript and other forms to my school, but i still have with me my application form and i dont know ghow to get a fingerprint card. im a bit confuse regarding this matter.... can you help me understand this. thank you very much!:uhoh3:

hello.. good day to all. i already sent my nclex application (california) last july 2008 thru FEDEX and i haven't receive any answer or letter up to now regarding it... some of my friends received a letter from the BON and some already received their eligibility... I'm just wandering why i haven't received mine. I just want to follow it up and I hope my application will be processed soon... Or if I have any lacking documents and mistakes regarding my application, I also hope that I may be notified... Thank you and Godbless...:wink2:

If you just applied this past July, the average wait time is about four months to get approval. And do you actually have a local license? If not, then CA is not going to do anything with your application for licensure.

They usually will not notify you of missing documents, only if you failed to submit the local license.

Not sure if you have done any reading here as to why you should not be using CA if you do not have a SSN# already. Much has been written on this very topic, you would be wise to do a search here about it.

im pretty much sure that i've submitted all the needed requirements/documents to them aside for the copy of my license w/c i already forgot if i included it when i passed it. but if not, according to you, they'll give me a notice right?.. maybe i'll just wait for it since it's only 2mons after i passed it... tnx anyway

hi! i have a query about the california application, i already applied and infact they sent me a letter asking for my local boards, now the prob is i havent renewed yet my license because before i left for ireland to work it was still good then i havent had a chance to go home yet to renew it...so is it still possible for california board to permit me to take my nclex even if my local license is expired? ill have to write an explanation letter though why its not renewed (twas indicated in their letter to give explanation if currently the applicant doesn't hold a local license)...pls help

They are just interested if there were any issues when you practiced while you were in the Philippines, so just verification of that license is all that is needed.

But before you do a thing with CA, you need to be very aware that they will not issue a license without a SSN#, and the passing letter is only valid for three years and you are looking at five years plus for a chance at a green card. If the time comes for you to get an interview with US Embassy, you will have had to apply all over again to CA. They will destroy your file in three years.

Please take the time to do some reading on this forum as why you should not even consider CA for initial licensure. As well as the fact that CA now has one of the highest rates of unemployment so even trying to find a facility that will be willing to start the process for you is going to be quite difficult as well.

Hi! Does anybody know how long it usually takes for a mail from CA to arrive in the Philippines? I mailed my application to CA BRN last September 23, 2008. Last Oct 16, the BRN e-mailed me that they had already processed my eligibility last Oct 2 and had mailed a packet to my address. I had an experience before where my certificate of grades (the one PRC mails) got lost in the mail, so I'm really starting to get paranoid.

Usually several weeks, depending on the city that you are in. Everything gets shipped to Manila and then on from there.

But again the issue is why you are even going thru CA with all that we have posted on it. If you do pass the NCLEX exam, your passing letter is going to expire in three years and then your file is going to be destroyed. You are looking at more than five years for a chance at a green card, that means that you will have to start the application process all over for CA.

They will destroy your file is you do not present them with a SSN# before the three years is up.

hi! i have a question to ask.. i already completed all the requirements needed for the nclex exam.. except for my license which i will be claiming tomorrow. i have completed all the forms last august and all the forms from my school was dated august also... since i don't have my license yet i asked my school not to send my forms yet since i was still waiting for the release of my license. But now i'm thinking of putting my application on hold since i'm currently working as a staff nurse..

my question is.. if i decide to go thru my application by next year.. can i still use the application form i have completed but not yet sent dated and signed last august (2008)?? especially the forms from my school (transcript and everything) i requested last august also?? since i already "paid" a lot for these...

please help me with my query... thank you so much... :loveya:

Yes you can still use those forms. In my case, I finished my application last Sept 2007 and I only mailed it to CA just Sept 2008. CA e-mailed me last Oct that they had already processed my eligibility and to allow for time for delivery. And I still haven't received any mail yet. :zzzzz Anyway, just make sure you include a copy of your license once you mail it. :nuke:

You are not applying for the NCLEX exam, that is impossible to do. You are trying to meet the requirements for licensure here in the US to a specific state board of nursing.

With all of what we have posted about not using CA for initial licensure, not sure why you were wishing to go with them since a license will not be issued to you and you have only three years to present a SSN# to them or your file will be destroyed. And this will include your NCLEX results.

I would take the time to do some reading here why it is not in your best interest to use CA for initial licensure before you do one other thing.

Not sure why you are wanting to go thru CA since your file will be destroyed in three years. You are looking at more than five years for a chance at a green card.

Sorry, but makes no sense to me at all.

Much has been written on this topic here, please just do a search for the information and reasons why CA should not be used.
