CA nclex-rn results for foreign grads with ssn

hey! just wondering if you're a foreign grad with SSN and took nclex-rn in cali is it possible for the results to be delayed? i did the PVT but i was worried because i forgot my account and had to change it again before i did my first PVT and it went straight to CC page. does this mean i failed? i did 75 questions. my name isn't in the BON website, i did my nclex last tuesday on the 28th. something's wrong because i requested for an interim permit with my application and paid for it before i took my nclex but didn't received any mail pertaining to my IP until now! im really worried and im close to dehydrating myself by crying so much. please help me!:confused::(:(:(:(

@bettina, i have my ssn already. I studied nursing in the Phils coz its a lot cheaper! haha! i really do hope I could get my eligibility soon coz i want to finish everything before going back to Manila in July. i heard the nclex is a lot harder bec of the SATAs and Prios! Are you from NJ?

well since ur here in the states u mind as well file for ur eligibility here n take

it in pinas..

u shud alsi start studying, focus on managemnt of care n infection control.

when i took my nclex i had like 6 sata questions,lots of cardio meds and prioritization.

u can enroll in kaplan if u want n just take their online course coz when i was preparing for the exam

i went thru all the questions in kaplans qbank and finished all their comprehensive exams

n honestly kaplans questions for me wer so much harder than the actual exam.

well thats just an observation on my part.=) and one more thing i recommend that u get the priortzation n delagation book by

la charity. =)

I took my Exam last Wednesday (04/13/2011). Got the good pop up 2 hours after taking it. Was worried for a couple of days. Called the BRN on Fri and was advised that it takes 7-10 days before they post the result. Although the gentleman said they are not allowed to give the result over the phone, he assured me that I will see my name if I just keep on checking. I checked the site on a Sat morning 430AM and saw my name. I was so relieved! Good luck to everyone who's waiting for their result. Good pop up = PASSED!

for me, nclex is way easier than our philippine board exam.. it's just that there's a lot of pressure in nclex bec it's expensive and you can't afford to fail hahaha!

hi i also graduated from the philippines and just recently migrated here to the states..i took my exam last monday. march 14,2011. i called ca bon this morning and told me that they have my social security number, so i explained to them that i just recently moved to nj and i wasnt able to provide them my ss number when i applied for my eligibility because i was still in the philippines last feb of 2010. so they asked me to fax in my social security number. so my question is how long did it take for you to get your results after you sent them ur ss card? im so anxious right now and i dont even have any idea of whether i passed or not. Ive been getting the good pop-up but it would be so much nicer to see my name on the bons website, that'll just top off the cake. ..

i hope you can share your experience with the ca bon with me...

I haven't got a clue about the SSN if where and how I'm gonna get that coz I'm presently working in the UK :uhoh3:

Is that the same idea as my NI (National Insurance number in the UK or the Social Security) number in Manila?

Is it supposed to be issued by the US government and automatically attach it to licensee if ever they passed the exam or we really have to provide it before we even take the test or after we pass the test? :idea:

I'm confused since I did not provide any SSN when I registered for my test at Pearson Vue.

I tried PVT and kept getting the good pop up but its been 20 days since I took the test in june 7 here in London.

I'm really really anxious coz until now I havent got my result yet and the only thing that makes me feel better is the PVT :crying2:

I got the good pop up but its been 20 days already and I kept checking CA BON website but I cant find my name yet :crying2:

I havent got my snail mail yet either. Since I'm working here in the UK for 8 years now. Do I have to provide SSN to the CA BON or is it attached automatically to the license if ever I passed the NCLEX RN ? :crying2:

Any enlightenment is will be greatly appreciated.By the way I'm also from Manila :redbeathe

I'm terrified still coz my computer stopped after just around 115 or 118 questions :crying2:

As I mentioned in another of your posts the BRN requires a US SSN and you will only get that once in the US with a valid work visa or immigrant visa. You are lucky that you have been able to submit an application as since June 10 they have not accepted any application without a SSN.

You are aware of the long wait for a immigrant visa or H1b visa?

without a valid work/immigrant visa and in the us already you can't get a ssn therefore you can't apply to ca for licensure

Hey ;p havent got my result yet tru snail mail :( CA BON asked me to send an updated fingerprint card hard copy coz they said they dont have a copy of it :( but in fact I've sent it to them last 2004 so I'm thinkin that they just want an updated one for criminal record purposes .Until now I'm still waiting for my snail mail. They said that they cannot release the result until they've got the hard copy of my fingerprint card ;( .So I went to have my fingerprint taken here in Scotland and sent it to them first week of august.But it can take a month or two before they can process it.Much better if its an electronic fingerprint coz it only takes 2 weeks.

I always check the PVT and kept getting the good pop up but still I want to be assured by seeing my letter that I passed or met the requirements.

It's a long wait for me really coz im trying to endorse it to another state which is Vermont but they want me to attach the candidate performance report from CA BON before they can evaluate it and hopefully issue a licence by endorsement.

If Vermont state issue my license then I would probably work for them according to my agency here in UK.

Thanks for the reply. It's such an agony of waiting for the final result. But in my own opinion, if you didn't pass the exam then I don't think so CA BON will waste your time of doing this finger print again if you don't have a SSN as this is their new rule now as to obtain this SSN first before you can reapply for the exam in case you don't have it. This is just my own opinion though but it's kind of making sense what I'm talking about, do you agree? Also, I've never heard anybody yet in this forum saying they got a good pop up and yet they fail. Maybe you can do the CES for Vermont requirement first while waiting so that your time will not be wasted, just a suggestion :) So I wish you good luck and let's just keep praying that the PVT really works 100% Good luck!!!
