1. No, you don't need to have your PR as of the moment whe you will do your initial application to the CNO. But in the latter part, citizenship or PR status is required in order for you to get registered as a nurse.
2. Yes! you need to complete the seven (7) requirements in order for you to get registered. Here are the 7 requirements needed:
- Completion of an acceptable nursing or practical nursing program (or equivalent).
- Evidence of recent safe nursing practice.
- Successful completion of national nursing registration examination.
- Evidence of fluency in written and spoken English or French.
- Registration or eligibility for registration in the jurisdiction where you completed your nursing program.
- Proof of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or authorization under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) to engage in the practice of nursing.
- Good character and suitability to practise, as indicated by a Declaration of Registration Requirements and a Canadian Criminal Record Synopsis.
3. I dont have a reliable source in this question. But my answer will based thru my experience, I had receive my eligibility to take the CRNE but it didnt say any validity aside from saying that I have 3 attempts in taking the CRNE.
Goodluck to each and everyone.
More power....

I studied so:
2 years anesthesia = A.S degree in anesthesia then bridged to Nursing.
2 years in Nursing = B.S Degree in nursing in my final degree.
all and all 4 years+ 10 years experience.
2 years practical perfusion training. - Nov 7, '11 by ORtobeQuote from farpadanaa friend of mine how has a complicated case is told by his assessor few days a go. I have a pending application too. So you've been waiting for the assessment result since July? Wow! I wonder when I'm going to receive mine. They received everything from the list just the first week of October. And I actually thought I could take the February CRNE in case i get eligible. They did not send me the BET form though. Which, made me wonder. - Nov 8, '11 by farpadanaQuote from ORtobeSo you've been waiting for the assessment result since July? Wow! I wonder when I'm going to receive mine. I think BET is not a requirment anymore. - Nov 8, '11 by cynthiamenesesHi.. I also applied for registration at CNO last july. And they asked me to send the form and ask the University to send them a TOR, course description, etc. A letter was sent to me after 2 weeks indicating to wait for 3 months. Last week I've received a package asking me to send additional information like the employment, PRC, Masterals (wasn't able to finish it) and the IELTS or evidence of fluency.. and also the proof of status here in Canada. To those asking if its necessary to have PR status, yes. During the initial application they already asked me to submit my landing papers.
Sad to say that I got a 6.0 rating on writing, so I need to retake my IELTS here in Canada. I thought evidence of fluency will be required if you're about to write the CRNE.
I'm not yet prepared for another exam, its very stressful.. I'm thinking to take the Training/General.
Does anybody knows any person who had assessment at the initial phase (just the school of nursing) and was eligible to write CRNE?
I read that if your school's curriculum is equivalent to Ontario and you have graduated less than 5 years, you will be eligible..
I graduated from a best nursing school in Manila.. (someone told me that my school is accredited) but then I graduated more than 7 years.. =(
And I didn't receive BET also.Last edit by janfrn on Nov 8, '11 : Reason: Tagalog
