Applying outside Canada and getting Jobs in Canada

Hi

I am in my final semester of Nursing and already planned to appear for NCLEX. I read several forums and website but I am a bit confused. Could someone of you please help me here?

- Is it necessary to be a nursing graduate while applying for the NCLEX?

- How would I get the job in Canada after passing the exam as I am outside Canada?

- Would I be practicing in college or hospital/clinics ?

I appreciate if you someone of you provide some advise here.

1. Yes you will need to have a local license from where you studied before you can apply for the NCLEX.

2. Besides having a license you will also need a visa allowing you to legally work in Canada before you can get a job.

3.Once you have a license and a work visa you can apply to any job you qualify for.You are not restricted to where you can work.

Are you in a BSN program? Before you can write the NCLEX you have to meet the requirements of the province you apply to. What province were you considering? Be aware that the market for nursing jobs is not very good in most of Canada.

Loriangel they will need a employer before they can apply for a work permit. Skilled federal list currently has nurses back on it but they will require x amount of months usually over 12 months full time experience before they can apply for skilled route.

I am new to this immigration and nursing job seeker in Canada. I am still confused with most of the comments that I read. I don't know where to start with. Do I apply directly from CIC as a skillled federal or apply through recruitment agency in Canada? Much input I highly appreciated.

I have read about the news. It's really frustrated for foreign nurses. I haven't even start to apply but my dream to migrate already crushing.

If applying via the Federal Skilled Workers list then you need to meet requirements like English/French language exam, 12 months or equivalent full time employment then you can do the process yourself without sing an agency. The CIC explains very well the process so unless you think you have a complicated case I would suggest saving your money and do it yourself
