i will send you a pm since ads for recruitment agencies are not allowed to be posted here, but it can be shared by pm or private message.

in my experience, there is no such agency that i know who can deploy a nurse in 3-6 months since the current processing time right now is longer than usual for temporary working permits or twp is at the canadian embassy-manila. (please check the embassy website)

Don't have to use a agency but will take longer than 3 months as you need medicals before you can work in the healthcare profession. Also a lot depends on what province you want to work in and also not nice to imply that you are using Canada because of retrogression. It is a lovely place although can get very cold in the winter and the people deserve nurses who want to work there

wadethebaddog, you won't be able to send PMs until you have 15 posts that contribute to discussion. You're getting close.

I notice you were asking about working short-term contracts in Canada. It's very unlikely that you would be able to work here like that. Immigration regulations are pretty strict about working full time to be eligible for a work permit, and there isn't an employer in Canada that would employ an IEN for the type of travel nurse work typically seen in the US. The associated costs and the necessary orientation time would preclude your working in short term temporary jobs.

Any of the travel type positions are not available to you. They require licensure as well as a couple of years of experience working in Canada first. They also do not do anything with immigration.

hi suzanne4.. so i should be taking the crne first before i look for agencies? I am a graduat of a 4 year Nursing course. I am currently employed in a hospital for two years now.. I took my Ielts last dec 2005. should i take the exam again? though my OBS is 7.5...

wadethebaddog,

take the IELTS again and aim for scores with no less than 6.5..

once you passed your IELTS you can notify agencies mentioned on this thread so they can put you in line once employers from canada comes to the Philippines to hire nurses. (take note: no payments should be given to agencies) once you are hired by employers then you can process your CRNE eligibilty on the province of your choice.

You taking the CRNE first would be next to impossible since CRNE is only given in canada. The embassy is quite strict in giving out tourist visa for nurses just so they can take the CRNE. Second: since your IELTS is expired you cannot be eligible for CRNE since they need you to have an active English proficiency exam.

You do not need an agency to go through the process.

steps 1. Apply to province and be assessed. Once assessed they will state wither eligible to sit CRNE. They may give you permission to work on temp license whilst waiting to sit CRNE

step 2. Find employer by contacting hospitals in the areas you want to live. Once you find a employer (they prefer you to have eligibility hence it being step 1) they will either apply for LMO or already have one and will give you a copy

step 3. Complete forms for temp work permit on CIC website and if family going with you complete their information. Any children they may need a student visa to attend school but does appear to vary so will need to check on that. If spouse is going with you they have to get their own permit and apply same time as you. Send to local Canadian embassy along with fees

step 4. They will request you attend for a medical and usually give a list of accepted facilities

step 5. They will issue you a letter stating you meet all requirements and your temp work permit will be issues on arriving in Canada at port of entry.

step 6. Arrange move to Canada

Remember CRNE can only be sat in Canada 3 times a year

hi oobie! can you also PM me on agencies who deploy nurses for Canada? thanks a lot

Silverdragon, for example, you received eligibility to sit the CRNE and at the same time was able to find an employer in Canada, will having an employer in Canada be enough to be able to get a visa to Canada and that TWP compared to just applying for a tourist visa? im planning to apply to BC on my own. I want to know my chances of having a visa to Canada because I met someone who was suppose to sit the Oct 8 CRNE but was denied of a tourist visa, so she was not able to sit the Oct 8 schedule.
