Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty (for non-RNs) MSN 2013

Nursing Students NP Students

Hi All,

There doesn't seem to be a thread yet for pre-specialty applicants (the thread going now seems to consist mostly of grad entry), so I thought I'd start one! Any other pre-specialty folks out there? I am from Seattle and applied for the PMHNP track.

Looking forward to seeing who turns up!

Sarah

Ha! Time seems to be dragging by. Don't know if I'm coping if I check the online status of my application at least twice a day

I just got an email saying that letters have started to be sent out for some specialties so hopefully some of us start hearing soon!

I got the same email. Apparently some specialties are still under review though.

Just got this e-mail:

We wanted to inform you that your file is still under faculty review. Since the admissions office doesn't control the review process, it is difficult to predict when you will receive a decision letter. However, we want to assure you that as soon as our faculty reviewers make a decision, we will send you a letter. Pre-specialty student admission letters in a few specialties have been sent out this week and we will continue to send out letters on a rolling basis as decisions are made.

We understand that it is hard to wait but there isn't anything else you need to do right now. If you will be applying for financial aid, you may want to work on your income taxes because you may need that information for the financial aid application.

I applied for NMW; they did interview last week Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday so I hope I'm in there!!

EDIT: Hah, I like how we all run here to say it at the same time!!

I got the same email! I was thinking it would be a decision. Hopefully soon!

I didn't get that email, did you incher? I think we have the same specialty...

I wonder how many people they interview for FPN. I know around 30 nonnurses will be accepted at the most, but they said they "didn't know" how many they were interviewing. Ahh this is killing me!

@kms No I did not get that email either. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing for both of us. Here's to waiting....

If you didn't get the email I'm guessing your letter is in the mail already! (They aren't sending acceptances via email.)

That is what I was thinking...because we have a less popular specialty with no interview...NMW, psych, FNP seem to have received the email.

And I now have to begin stalking mailman in addition to checking VUSN website and allnurses.com twice daily. Haha

Ha! That's funny!
