by dairycow Aug 26, '12I graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2009 and passed my AANP NCLEX-NP boards in 2010. I wasn't able to find a job shortly after and then life came along and swooped me to Southern California at the end of 2010. I am in a worse spot for job opportunities here in the desert. Recently, an opportunity struck (finally) and I am trying to see how I can get licensed as an NP in California. I'm wondering if anyone knows if I have to take the boards all over again or simply get it reciprocated like I did with my NY to CA RN license. The steps for getting a CA RN license were spelled out so clearly but I'm having a harder time with the NP process. Someone also mentioned that there is an extra class I have to take to get prescriptive capabilities? Help!
