New to Nursing Career-NP vs CNS in California

  1. 0 I'm trying to decide between trying to find a acclerated BSN nursing program or acclerated masters nursing program that would allow me to become an NP or CNS. I really do not know the difference between the two in California. Ideally I would love to work with children and I would like to become a pediatric nurse practitioner or a CNS in parent and child care. Does anyone know the main differences between the two such as responsibilities, salary, autonomy, and growth within that field? Thank you for your time!

California no seperate scope of practice for either both must operate under standardized procedures. NPs can furnish (perscribe) medications, a CNS can not in California.
