In need of someone to answer interview questions

Hi, I am an NP student and am writing my final paper for the term. The final interview I had lined up fell through it seems so I was wondering if an NP out there would be willing to answer 10 or so questions posted below to assist me in writing the paper.

The paper is designed for us to reflect on what we've learned from the 3 interviews that we did about barriers and expectations in the NP field.

I would never post questions like this, but I was assured by someone they'd do it and it didn't happen for whatever reason and I'm out of NP friends.

Thank you so much

  • What led to the decision to become an advanced practice nurse?
  • Describe their educational experience.
  • What expectations did they have at graduation?
  • How does their current practice situation relate to what they expected at graduation? Are they in clinical practice? If so, is the scope of practice what they expected? If it is not what they expected, why not? If they are not in clinical practice, was this their choice?

  • What barriers to practice were encountered?
  • What is/was the response of the patients to their nursing care?
  • What is the level of satisfaction the advanced practice nurse now enjoys? Is it related to the autonomy or the patient care? Something else?
  • What level of participation in partnership and networks was necessary to attain their career objectives?

I'm a CNS on an iPad but I'm happy to help......sorry about the formatting."............................My decision to become an APN hinged on my hospital going to Magnet status and I needed a BSN to stay as a charge RN. However once I got into school, I just stayed thru a BSN, MSN and a post MSN adult CNS. Then four yrs later I did a second CNS..peds...........educational experience - great. I did an entirely online BSN and MSN and then a hybrid post MSN certificates.....at graduation I was rather disenchanted that here were no jobs at the hospital where I worked. So I was job hunting. Ugh!............I'm currently an APN in an expanding nephrology practice. Yes, I'm in clinical practice. My scope of practice is fairly autonomous and has changed over the six yrs I've been there and it's about to change again.

I really haven't had barriers to practice. I came to an established practice which has had PAs and FNPs for five yrs before I joined. The pts are very used to me. I have a lot of job satisfaction. I work in a practice which values me and rewards me very well. This is related to both the pt care aspect as well as the autonomy. I do enjoy not being in the same office day after day. I like change. I participate in my states APN organization and frequently network with my co workers in my practice as well as colleagues outside my job.
