I love the implanon. I do not have on my self but we put a lot in at the clinic I work for. The major side effect is abnormal bleeding for a couple of months, Headaches, acne, and possible weight gain. It about the same as any other birth control. It is implanted in the sub Q area of the arm and last for 3 years. They are easy to insert and remove. We have a high teen pregnancy rate in this area. We are trying to get girls to get them at there post partum visits so they do not have any more kids for a while. We also try to get them on some type of birth control before they get pregnant.
