Failed the AANP and ANCC

Hello everyone

So I took the AANP in March 2011 after taking the Fitz course, and failed (personally I didn't think I was ready), but I thought I would try. Then I purchased the Barkley Assoc CD and Home Course and studied better from his work. So in Aug, 2011, I took the ANCC and it was FULL of ethical, cultural, and Standard of Nursing questions, all of which I didn't study; hence I failed again. I'm sooo sad and ready to give up. But I worked so hard. I have two small children and really need to pass. I'm losing hope...Did anyone else fail more than once? Is there hope? Any help is good help. Thank you!!!

I had a good friend that was very smart and she took her certification three times and finally passed on the third time. I suggest to keep pushing and not to give up! Stick to one review and not more than one at time. That would get really confusing and overwhelming. Good luck!

hello Jane33..did you take both the AANP and ANCC? I read your post and wanted to ask a few questions on what your thoughts were and study material?? any information will be helpful..Thanks :)

Did you already sale the material??

Hi,

I just bougt a familyNPprep.com bundle test for my ANCC test. I justwant sombody know it is totally useless. Almost 90% of the questions is related to RN test, not NP test. I e-mailed them and eventually they gave me the refund. I don't know why a lot of people still recommend this website. When I creat a new account in familyNPprep.com and they gave me a reference code . That means I can get 10% of cashback if I recommend a new friend to buy their materials. I think it is not good to earn the money from other people through cheating. Just let everyone know it.

Hmmm... not sure which test you bought. They offer 25 different exams for RNs and NPs (including AANP and ANCC.) This will be my last post on this because people will start thinking I work for this website or something :-). But be careful & pick the correct exam that corresponds to which ever test you are taking.

You have a determined attitude and tough relentlessness!

that sounds exactly like my test to a t.

Hi,There are lots of review businesses who target people like us who want to do well and search for quality materials. I went to a website that claimed it was 29.99 for an online review for the FNP. Family Nurse Practitioner study and review for FNP certification - Exam Master Corporation. Well after I paid the fee, I could not access anything. When I called, I was informed by the crooked company's rep that the 30 fee was only for access to the site. Each practice test was 30. Be careful. We already spend a great deal of money on school and the exam.

Whitecloud,

I took both exams twice. I passed AANP second time. I have posted a lot of information on this thread about study materials. I would be glad to answer any of your questions but please make sure you have read my previous post on this thread so that I am not repeated the same information. Please feel free to ask me questions.

So I took the AANP and failed. I haven't gotten my final results in the mail yet but I'm torn as to what exam to take next. Should I do AANP again or the ANCC? I already have an awesome job waiting for me. I felt like I knew a lot of be material but test anxiety got me and then I started freaking out. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Everyone!

Im taking the AANP exam. Ive taken the Fitz live course but see from reading all the posts that the Hollier review is highly recommended. Also, which Hollier Review book is everyone suggesting? Is it a textbook, the workbook that comes with the lectures, OR the book of only review questions?

Im open to any/everyones responses please!

Thanks

Mel

ale022,

The best advice that I can give is if you can afford it take the NPreview webinar by Maria Leiks. I understand just how you feel. If you can not afford to take the webinar try to review some of the content you saw on the test. You may see that material again. I wish you the best!
