Dukes Post graduate certificate in Cardiology

  1. Anyone familiar with Dukes post graduate certificate specializing in cardiology? I'm assuming it's a competitive program?? How long is the program? Is it on campus or online? How many students do they accept?? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm...can you give us some more info? Is this what you are talking about? Cardiology Specialty | Duke School of Nursing

That looks like just 9 hours of credit:

The cardiovascular specialty offers students the opportunity to become expert clinicians in the care of individuals with cardiovascular disease. The online coursework includes content from the American College of Cardiology Core Curriculum and incorporates the latest evidence based knowledge in the field. On-campus intensives provide students opportunities to engage with cardiovascular clinicians and inquire about novel research and innovative practice. As a synthesis, the student participates in clinical practice under the mentorship of an expert clinician in a cardiovascular specialty.

    Courses
NUR 801: Advanced Practice Nursing: Cardiovascular Specialty I (Fall only)
NUR 802: Advanced Practice Nursing: Cardiovascular Specialty II (Spring only)
NUR 805: Advanced Practice Nursing in Adult-Gerontology Cardiovascular Synthesis

Loooks like it includes 224 hours of clinical.

    Interesting

Yes! This is the program I'm talking about. I was just wondering if it was a hard program to get into? I will already have my masters by the time I'm ready to apply but I was just curious as to how competitive it is and if anyone knew how many they except?

Call them and ask how many applicants they take. It appears to be new. I've considered Duke before and never saw this.

I looked on that page and they also have other certificates in endocrinology, ortho, and others. Tuition is $1700/credit hour so that certificate is gonna cost you about $15,000
