It seems tattoos are becoming more common. Does your place of work have a "tattoo policy"? What do you think about tattoos? Do you have one? I have seen some tattoos that are amazing while others are not.

I am about to enter into a nursing program in NC and have 2 half sleeves and I am dreading having to keep them covered. I got mine to cover up scars from keratosis pilaris. I wanted to cover something ugly with something beautiful, plus I am Native American so tattoos are a part of my heritage. I am so glad I purposefully never got any below my forearm so that long sleeves can cover them up. The only ones I am really worried about are the one on top of my foot and I have my wedding band tattooed on. How the heck am I gonna cover my ring finger? I actually got the ring idea from my Dr. She did hers so she wouldn't have to take it off or worry about losing it while she was at work.

I think people are getting more comfortable with tattoos. I have one also... on my belly! I got it 1998 or 1999. I think, if possible, they could be put on a part of your body where is can be covered up if and when you desire it to be. But that is my personal opinion. There are some beautiful, amazing art work done in tattoos and they are always good for conversation.

I agree, seems like it would be encouraged as a more sanitary option ☺️

I have several tattoos, one is a chest piece. Thankfully I can cover all of my tattoos up with a t-shirt and scrubs. I really believe that tattoos should be more accepted in every field. They are just an expression of self on our skin, no harm in that, right?

Tattoos are no big deal where I work. One ER nurse has two fulls sleeves.

I think they're fine as long as they're tasteful. Like I wouldnt want a nurse with a nazi tattoo taking care of me. Just sayin.
