My wife (also an RN) and I have stopped and rendered aid at three different MVAs over the past 10 years. In fact, we carry kits in the cars so we'll have some basic supplies handy.

I worked for a year at a pediatric hospital. During that time I was shopping for groceries with my brother when we saw a lady with a toddler throwing a fit. I suggested we shop at the other end of the store to get away from the screaming. My brother agreed but then said I should be used to that because of my work. I replied that at work it was different. There I could administer narcotics. If I gave narcs to this kid they'd lock me up.

This one fast food place has a french-fry-done alarm that sounds exactly like the abnormal BP alarm, instantly transporting me to imaginary work with all the imaginary stresses! Either that or whoever I'm eating with has to endure twenty minutes of bad BP related fast food jokes:

"Burger Pressure is low - get another 44 oz bolus of Cherry Coke started"

"This Fry suffered burns over 90% of its body - we better correct for the intravascular fluid volume loss before this BP gets any worse"

"The high BP alarm is sounding and I haven't even salted my fries yet!"

etc...

I also experience that. It was after a very tiring duty and lack of enough sleep. Then, on my way home, I heard the alarm that got me alert and ready for the action. Too bad, it was just the fire drill on the next street.

Lol... So true.
