I liked Mercy--it was only on one season in 2009, but was good...

Call The Midwife. It's a BBC series available on Netflix and I'm completely addicted to it.

Will DEFINITELY look into it.

I watch Downton Abbey for a "period" healthcare fix. I also love Nurse Jackie, I still love Scrubs as a good show that depicted nurses. Mercy was a show I liked to watch as well. There could be better nurse shows, but they would have to REALLY go into depth about the various issues nurses have of all backgrounds, as well as gender issues.

Totally random, but I remember in the early 90s there was a show called Nurses; it spun off from Empty Nest and that spun off of Golden Girls...that was a Saturday night show this "tween" (wasn't called a tween in my day; I was a pre teen) watched at that time-now I'm showing my age talking about-even REMEMBERING this show! I wanted to be a nurse, so why not watch a show called Nurses?

And if all else fails, go to the classics: Trapper John, MD and M.A.S.H.

I have no idea, because...who would want to watch a show about nursing? I leave it at work, where it belongs. :)

Read the books the show is based on! I read a lot of midwifery memoirs when I was considering L&D/CNM (not anymore - discovered I prefer the other end of life), and these were by far my favorites!

I liked Nurse HawthoRNe, but I think it got stupid and I lost interest when she started sleeping with the doctor. Its TV sex sells. But I enjoyed the series. Oh, also this show has the best depiction of a male nurse I ever saw...Nurse Ray, finally a male nurse who is not a clown and is straight.

The other hospital shows have no nurses just a bunch of doctors and residents running around in lab coats...a far cry from reality.
